Position Summary

Responsible for managing communications on behalf of HLK clients as well as, internal communications. The PR Manager will also interface with clients and internal teams to move projects through the agency with the highest degree of efficiency and success – both from a creative and business standpoint. Ultimately, the agency’s goal is to help its clients achieve their business objectives through innovative thinking and flawless execution.

Responsibilities

• Serves as day-to-day point of contact for various clients to develop and implement PR strategies for campaigns, launches and editorial calendars 
• Supports analysis and reporting, identifying actionable and integrated insights that influence marketing decisions and budgets
• Creates and manages strategic communications plans including strategy, goals, budget, tactics and measurement
• Analyzes all media coverage of the organization and drafting appropriate responses
• Develop media relations strategy, seeking high-level placements in print, broadcast and online media for clients and for the agency
• Works with the social media team to share earned media content and create a content calendar
• Create content for press release, byline articles, talking points and keynote presentations
• Manage media inquires and interview requests
• Organizes and staffs promotional events such as media days, trade shows and conferences
• Produces content for various speeches, events, etc.
• Develops and implements crisis communications advice and media strategy, as needed
• Follow industry trends affecting clients and make appropriate recommendations regarding communication strategy surrounding them
• Review and authorize client invoices
• Prepare and maintain status reports and other documentation
• Manage scope changes quickly, fairly and efficiently
• Interface and coordinate with all agency functions/departments

• Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications or related field
• Minimum of five years of public relations or communications experience
• Proven track record designing and executing successful public relations campaigns at both local and national level
• Solid experience with social media including blogs, Facebook, Twitter, etc.
• Strong attention to detail Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Strong independent decision-making, organization, planning and problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple simultaneous projects
• Initiate and manage projects profitability – clearly defining objectives and deliverables internally and externally
• Obtain necessary approvals – estimates, site maps, media, scope changes, layouts, etc.
• Present, sell and defend agency work/proposals to clients
• Ensure accuracy of all work and client communication – seeking 100% error free success rate
